Minnie & Nala’s story
A Perfect January Birthday Leap
January the sixth is no ordinary winter day in your snowy backyard. It is Nala's birthday, and the entire world seems to have dressed up for the occasion. Gilded ribbons left over from New Year's Eve dangle from the frosty birch trees, swaying gently in the crisp, cold air.
You step onto the porch with a plate of warm, peanut-butter pupcakes. Nala is already wearing her celebratory cone hat, though it is currently sliding at a comical, tilted angle over one eye. With a single, enthusiastic shake of her head, the hat flies off into a soft drift of snow. Minnie, always the opportunist, immediately investigates the fallen hat, hoping it might secretly be made of cheese.
Finding no cheese, Minnie launches into her favorite winter game, bounding through the powdery drifts like a tiny, furry dolphin. Her ears flap wildly as she kicks up a spray of glittering white flakes.
But today is Nala's day to shine. Ignoring the pupcakes for just a moment, she spots a single, perfect snowflake drifting down from the gray winter sky. With a dramatic leap, Nala springs into the air, her mouth wide open to catch the icy prize. Minnie pauses her snow plowing to watch her sister's majestic mid-air hunt.
You laugh, the sound carrying in the quiet January air, and call them both back for treats. Snuggling close to your legs, their fur dusted with snow and their noses delightfully cold, they look up at you with pure devotion. It is the perfect start to another wonderful year together.

A photo of the calendar where it hangs helps the next pet parent more than anything we could write. It takes a few seconds and goes up with a short review.
